Friends Birthday CelebrationThe Museums Service is supported by The Friends of Rutland County Museum and Oakham Castle who have raised over £170,000 for the work of the Museum since 1973.

The Friends have helped the Museum to buy and fit out additional premises, facilities and exhibitions and to acquire many items for the Museum’s collections.

2009 saw the Friends celebrating their 50th Birthday and they helped mark it with a Norman day at The Castle.
