1st Oakham Brownies 1st Oakham Brownies had a very active Christmas with a trip to Sundown Adventure Park to visit Santa. They danced with bears and had a trip down the mouse's tail into Winter Wonderland. In Storybook Land the Brownies visited the Witch's House and they all like climbing into Hansel & Gretel's cage! The Christmas Party was a sleepover at Exton Village Hall. All the Brownies took part in party games and disco dancing organised by Snowy Owl, followed by a wonderful tea complete with Christmas Crackers prepared by Sparrow (our unit helper). After tea there were Christmas crafts prepared by Brown Owl. Eighteen Brownies stayed for the sleepover and enjoyed hot chocolate and the latest videos brought in by Tawny Owl. The Brownies also took part in decorating a paper plate with a Smiling Santa for a Rutland Radio competition - the plates were put on display in Rutland Radio's window in Oakham. For the New Year the Brownies will be taking part in a Lend a Hand Venture, Trefoil Competition and learning about Guiding Around the World. We will also start making plans for our summer holiday. 1st Oakham Brownies meet on Thursdays in Oakham.
