Rutland Water
With over 3000 acres of water, this is the largest man made lake in Europe. Visitors come to enjoy walking and cycling along 25 miles of traffic-free paths around its shores and to participate in the water sports of sailing, windsurfing, canoeing or fly-fishing. The 450-acre nature reserve provides bird-hides and a bird watching centre, with Ospreys returning each year to the area. Nearby golf courses are open to the public and horse riding can be arranged.

Hambleton's unique position on the peninsula proffers wonderful views from every aspect.
With a Michelin starred Hotel and Restaurant, Hambleton Hall (restaurant open to non Residents), and an excellent village
pub/restaurant, the village has much to offer visitors.
Its close proximity to the unspoilt market towns of Oakham (2½ miles), Uppingham (6 miles) and Stamford (10 miles), all frequently used as television and film sets, provide facilities such as weekly markets, and excellent food shops, plus several supermarkets.
Numerous village pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area have made Rutland an area of gastronomic delight!
The area is easily accessible from the A1, 9 miles to the east and only one and a half hours from London by road or rail.
