Friends of Rutland County Museum & Oakham Castle - About Us

Venue: Rutland County Museum Information: The Friends aim to support the development & activities of the Museum, raise funds for the purchase of new exhibits and promote our county to residents & visitors.
In return we arrange lectures, visits, field trips & social events and offer the chance to assist the Museum & make new friends.
The Friends are a registered charity (No. 1109417) Meetings Information: Monthly lectures are held between September and June in conjunction with the Rutland Local History & Record Society, and these are usually on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. 7:30pm at Rutland County Museum.

The Museum Garden Project
We are delighted to say that following on from the Judges Award in the 2007 East Midlands in Bloom awards the garden has received the East Midlands in Bloom Special Award for the Best New Permanent Landscape in the 2008 awards. Only one of these awards is granted each year and it is a great honour for our Museum Garden to have been selected.
