Come and join us at the Stapleford Miniature railway, Stapleford park near Whissendine LE14 2SF

Supporting LOROS, this is the second and last of the 2012 public open weekends of the historic steam hauled SMR at Stapleford Park,
The event will also feature miniature traction engines, vintage vehicles and tractors classic cars , steam and fair organs, craft and trade stalls and model engineering tent
New for this year, come and talk to a team from the 4 University and young railway engineer teams that took part this year for the IMECHE railway challenge hosted at Stapleford in July and see their innovative locomotive design

Also model railway suppliers with working model railways Living history Anglo Saxon village recreation
Hot and cold catering with licensed bar tent serving local real ales during the day, (and evenings for overnighters with evening entertainment Saturday and Sunday evenings)


The historic railway which celebrates 55 years next year will be in operation over nearly 2 miles of scenic line with up to 4 steam locos scheduled in use each day (subject to availability)

Admission only £3 per person (under 12’s free)
(note small charge for train rides)
gates open 10-00 each day till tea, free parking in the park for picnics!! stay all day if you like, well behaved dogs also welcome on the trains

Public camping area also available
Weekend camping / caravanning £20 for 2 adults 2 children including admission both days (see the railways website poster to book) or just turn up on the Friday / Saturday

Stapleford is a children friendly railway and most folks camping go out and explore Rutland and Melton on the Saturday and chill out in the park over the rest of the weekend with entertainment in the legendary beer and models tents in the evenings where we all congregate with our families for night time running of the traction engines and fair organs
