Ketton Parish Plan Report, 2006
A PROFILE OF THE POPULATION OF KETTON The village appears to be split 402 (45%) male and 492 (55%) female. In terms of age, residents of over retirement age form nearly one third of the population With 115 (13%) of residents over 75 years old, Ketton has a significant population of older people; a point which should be kept in mind when looking at a variety of issues such as transport, shopping and community services. Similarly, the figures for employment have consequences that bear on other matters. Noting the regular change of ownership of houses in Ketton, one might think we had a shifting population. The statistics, however, would appear to deny this as 423 (56%) of householders have been resident in the village since 1995 and 92 (10%) have lived here since they were born. 97% of the population gave their ethnic origin as British. People who said their origin was ,‘‘white of other background’’, made up 2%, with people from a spread of origins making the final 1%. |
