The national ‘Every Child Matters’ programme sets out a new way of working in partnership for all those involved in the planning, delivery and evaluation of services for children and young people. The outcomes of the programme describe how services should benefit the lives of children and young people and require all those who provide services to re-think the way that services are planned and delivered. The outcomes fall into five areas:

• Be healthy
• Stay safe
• Enjoy and achieve
• Make a positive contribution
• Achieve economic well-being

The Children's Trust Board is responsible for overseeing the strategic development of services for children and young people in Rutland. Its members are drawn from a wide range of statutory, non-statutory and voluntary organisations, and it is chaired Carol Chambers, Director of Children and Young People’s Services, Rutland County Council. (To read them you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader, which you can download free from the Adobe Website) It will oversee the development, endorsement and delivery of the Children and Young People’s Plan (CYPP) for Rutland and set the strategic direction of travel for services to children and young people in Rutland.
