Village History
In 1797 one cottager spun stockings for Lady Finch, one is described as 'cross, but a good woman,' one woman is thought to have had twenty three children and has taken to drink, one couple are 'not good people' and there is a story about them stealing wood, but others are praised as 'remarkably industrious.'
