The competition, which is being run by Encyclopædia Britannica and EducationCity.com, offers one school class a whole day visit to the museum and the chance to experience some fun limited-offer science activities. Britannica and EducationCity.com will also provide up to £500 to the winning school in travel expenses. Schools from Rutland can enter by signing up to a free trial of Primary Britannica, where they will be entered into a prize draw, which will be made on 27th July 2012, with the winning school being contacted in the new academic year. The competition has been launched to celebrate a strategic partnership between Britannica and EducationCity.com, which brings together two of the UK’s best educational resource providers. It will provide a complementary range of Britannica’s world-renowned online educational materials for teachers exclusively through EducationCity.com, helping to boost attainment and inspire learners in classrooms across the UK. Ian Grant, Managing Director of Encyclopaedia Britannica: “We are delighted to launch this exciting competition for schools in Rutland and we’re certain that every class will be keen to win a trip to the Science Museum. We’re also proud that through our partnership with EducationCity.com, we’ll be able to provide all schools – not just the winner of this competition – with world-class educational resources.” Richard Whalley, Managing Director of EducationCity.com: “The addition of Encyclopaedia Britannica to EducationCity.com’s award winning resource is a further boost to our offering to teachers and pupils. The winning school will be able research, reinforce and experience science topics in partnership with EducationCity.com, Primary Britannica and the Science Museum. ” For more information on how to enter and for the terms and conditions, schools in Rutland should visit: http://www.educationcity.com/uk/teachers/britannica Ends For more information, please contact: Sayle Davis Senior Marketing Executive 01572 725088 sayled@educationcity.com Notes to Editors: For further information about Britannica and its products, please visit: http://educationcity.com Follow EducationCity on Twitter: @educationcity | ||
