Students at the Rutland College after receiving their A Level Results in AugustStudents at The Rutland College 6th form centre of Tresham Institute are celebrating their success today after receiving their A and AS Level results. Their hard work and determination, coupled with dedicated support from their lecturers and a range of support staff has led to a set of results which in most cases exceed their own individual targets. Out of over 360 A Level entries in 29 different subjects the overall pass rate of 97%, 65% of which are at grade A-C, means that students will now be spending the next few days confirming their places at university or going on to employment.

Alison Hardy, Campus Head for The Rutland College said “We are delighted with our overall A level pass rate of 97%. It is the personal triumphs of our individual learners which add up to the bigger picture of success”.

The Rutland College is particularly pleased with the 100% pass rate in a whole range of subjects including; Religious Studies, Sociology, Biology, Geology, Human Biology, Business Studies, Psychology, Chemistry, Physics, ICT, Media Studies, English Language and Literature, English Literature, Graphic Design, Geography, German and History. Of particular note are the following subjects all of which recorded 100% pass rates at grades A-C in Further Mathematics, Chinese, Portuguese, Drama and Theatre Studies and Music.

The AS results are also excellent with over 440 entries in 28 different subjects with an overall pass rate of 83% holding up a vision of further excellent A level results next year.

The Institute’s Management Team is delighted with these positive results and feels this success coupled with a positive Ofsted Inspection last year is an excellent testament to students and staff at the Institute and a just reward for all their hard work and enthusiasm.

Joe West, Interim Principal of Tresham Institute, said;
“I am extremely pleased to report that this year’s results have, once again, reached a very high standard. I am very proud of today’s results and, whilst our learners did all the hard work to gain these wonderful results, we should not lose sight of the professionalism and dedication of our teachers, who use their enthusiasm, planning and teaching skills to enable our learners to shine. Well done!”

The Rutland College which is incorporated into Tresham Institute is still enrolling students for courses starting in September.
