Supporting Movember

Published:Friday 18 November 2011

Four guys from Gage Networks in Oakham have taken on a moustache-growing challenge in support of Movember – the campaign which runs during November each year and is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in the UK and around the world. The aim of Movember is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.

Technical Engineers Nick Ruggles and Mark Farmer, Account Manager Alex Chapman and Graphic Designer Mark Baker, have all taken on the challenge, naming their team 'Global Cloud Moustachification'.

Team Captain Nick Ruggles said "Reading the facts and figures of prostate cancer is quite a shock, which led us all to take part in Movember to raise awareness for men's health. There's a lot of banter around the office and we can't wait to see who looks the most absurd!"

One man dies every hour of prostate cancer in the UK and 1 in 9 men will get the disease. Money raised by Movember supports awareness and educational programmes for men's health, as well as The Prostate Cancer Charity and The Institute of Cancer Research.
