Voluntary Action Rutland
Welcome to Voluntary Action Rutland VOLUNTARY ACTION RUTLAND (VAR) is a ONE-STOP SHOP for volunteers and organisations. VAR combines the services of a Council for Voluntary Service and a Volunteer Bureau both of which work together for the benefit of the Rutland Community. VAR supports and promotes local voluntary action by providing advice, information, support, training, and consultation. We offer a wide range of services to members of the Rutland Community and gives priority to vulnerable people. VAR is based in the Rutland Volunteer Centre, which is situated behind The Rutland College. The building was purchased and renovated with funding from the National Lotteries Charities Board. Many other Trusts, Charities, Businesses and Volunteers have contributed both time and money to make it a pleasant and friendly place to meet. Other permanent users of the centre include: Age ConcernAge Concern Social Rehabilitation Project Advance Housing & Support Rutland County Council Social Services Mental Health Project Rutland Community Mental Health Team The following organisations provide an outreach service at the centre.
