Music in the Gallery - Pica Pica
Friday 21 September 7.30pm Tickets: £7/£5 concession.

Pica Pica are an all-female ‘a cappella’ vocal group. Their name, meaning ‘magpie’, evolved from their tendency to borrow songs from a wide variety of sources. Expect a world-wide repertoire ranging across folk, jazz, gospel and traditional songs.

Violinist Martin Cropper is an incredibly passionate performer and educator. Over the summer he completed five performances of the Elgar violin concerto in the UK and Poland and is well-known locally for his inspiring work as Head of Strings at Oakham School. Fraser Graham is an extremely talented young pianist and accompanist, and recently gave a recital performance at the Richard Attenborough Centre in Leicester.

Their programme will include works by Elgar, Prokofiev and Bacewicz.

Music in the Gallery - Peter Oxley and Luis D’Agostino (Anglo-Argentinean guitar duo)

Scintillating guitar duo D’Agostino and Oxley perform a varied and engaging selection of jazz. Their diverse repertoire ranges from traditional and modern tangos to the works of contemporary musicians such as Chick Corea, Egberto Gismonti and arrangements of pieces by Joni Mitchell, The Beatles and Norah Jones. They have steered their repertoire away from the usual jazz standards to present a rich programme which has a very broad appeal – both on disc and on the stage.


The Jamm – The Jam Tribute

Friday 25th January 8pm doors open £10 ticket

The 'official' tribute to The Jam, acknowledged and praised by Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler, and using original equipment to recreate the sound and the feel of that era.

The three-man tribute band was formed in 1996, and are recognised as the leading Jam tribute band in the country, regularly performing at different venues across the country, and now playing in Oakham.
