Martin is on a UK visit from Canada for a tour, including a whistle stop of his home town and school.
Music in the Gallery - Jay Lynsay with support from Andy Griffiths
Friday 18th January 7.30pm.
Jay Lynsay fuses the funk, folk and soul sounds of the 70's with mainstream pop of the 80's, sprinkling a subtle flavour of laid back trad jazz over the top, making his sound an original, modern-day, mainstream New Retro style.
Jay will be performing with a 4 piece band that includes himself (vocals, keyboards and trombone), Paul Dixon (guitar), Tom Bull (bass) and Dave Anderson (drums).
There will also be support from talented singer/songwriter Andy Griffiths.
The Jamm The Jam Tribute

The 'official' tribute to The Jam, acknowledged and praised by Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler, and using original equipment to recreate the sound and the feel of that era.
The three-man tribute band was formed in 1996, and are recognised as the leading Jam tribute band in the country, regularly performing at different venues across the country, and now playing in Oakham.

Music in the Gallery - Trio Galleria

Celebrating the concert programme’s first year we welcome back Trio Galleria who formed exactly one year ago to launch the concert series. They are the brilliantly talented couple Melanie (cello) and Albert Cortese (viola) with a remarkable young pianist Fraser Graham. Programme to include solo and duo pieces by Bach, Mozart, Puccini, Villa Lobos and featuring the famous "Dumky" Trio by Dvorak.
Music in the Gallery - Martin Stephenson

Geordie troubadour Martin Stephenson is one of England’s finest singer /songwriters.
His band Martin Stephenson and The Daintees released four critically acclaimed albums in the mid 1980s and early 1990s Boat To Bolivia, Gladsome Humour And Blue, Salutation Road and The Boy’s Heart , touring with bands such as Simple Minds and Hothouse Flowers and appearing on TV shows including The Old Grey Whistle Test, The Tube, Wogan and Jonathon Ross.
Martin embarked upon a solo career in the mid 1990s and has continued to delight audiences around the world with his wonderful wit and charm. Tickets are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Battle of the Bands

Charlie Don't Surf of Uppingham won the competition and will go on to perform at Riverside Festival in June. Students from VC’s Rock School ‘Slimmer’ were fantastic and really pleased the judges, as did local band ‘One Way Traffic’. It was a fun night and next year’s event hopes to be back and even bigger!

Music in the Gallery - David Wyatt with support from Joel Owen
Friday 25th April. Tickets: £7/£5 concession.
Charismatic and left-of-centre singer/songwriter David Wyatt weaves his magic of music and onstage banter, to deliver a show of real entertainment. “Comedy gold meets blissful folk” is the quote from Leicester’s own Summer Sundae Festival and he was Tommy Emmanuel’s support of choice for his 2005 UK tour.
There will also be support from fabulous up-and-coming singer/songwriter Joel Owen. All in all an evening not to be missed.
